Mark Coleman - Guide/Owner

"My passion for fishing is being a part of others catching fish"
For over a decade, Mark Coleman has had great success in pursuing, catching,
and teaching others the key techniques to hooking trophy fish.
As a USCG
Licensed Captain and insured Seattle fishing guide, Mark Coleman has put his years
of fishing experience and knowledge into mastering the prolific
Salmon, Steelhead, Trout, and Sturgeon fisheries of Western
and Eastern Washington, and Alaska. Its not un-common to see
Mark guiding trout on the Yakima River, Sturgeon in Puget Sound, the Olympic
Peninsula guiding Wild Steelhead, and the mighty Columbia fishing
Spring Chinook all in the same week! Mark Coleman also guides in Bristol
Bay, Alaska on the world famous Nushagak River and Togiak River
systems.

"I have
been tirelessly chasing fish my entire life. My pursuit of fish
started with a Fly Rod and to be perfectly
honest, for the first few years,
I really didn’t have much success! But that didn’t
stop me. After a couple of years of intense practice, study, and plain
trial and error, I started hooking fish.
My target species was trout at the time. Within a few years
I could
successfully fish any river or lake in the Northwest and
strategically catch trout. From there I migrated over to West
Yellowstone for 4 months of Fly Fishing exclusively in South Central
Montana and Eastern Idaho. After returning home to Portland, OR,
my pursuit of Trout shifted to Coho and Steelhead. Only having 4 and 6
wt.
fly rods didn’t stop me from figuring out these fish either!
Using aggressive intruder type flies was my niche and
I loved stalking
these much larger, harder fighting fish! I also tie all of my own
flies. During 1997-1998 I was the sole supplier of flies for a
popular outdoor store in Washington. I still pursue Salmon and
Steelhead on the fly, as well as tie my own patterns".

"From fishing
with others and teaching myself I learned nearly all aspects of gear fishing
in rivers and tidewaters and have become very
successful in a few of those methods. Some of those include;
Side Drifting, Drift Fishing, Back-trolling, Pulling
Bait,
Trolling Spinners/Herring, and hover fishing. I also have over a
decade of
experience in saltwater fishing. I successfully run
downriggers, and mooch for Salmon and bottom fish".
"With my
documented time on the water, and schooling I currently hold a 25
Ton Master Operators License from the United States Coast Guard.
This allows me to safely run power driven vessels for hire on all
Federally Navigable Waters, Inland". I'm First Aid/CPR
Certified, insured, and always run my trips with safety in mind.
"I love nothing more as a guide to be a part of others
catching fish. Since 1996 I have been fortunate enough to put others
onto hundreds of Salmon, Steelhead, and Trout from Tillamook
Bay to the San Juan Islands, SW Alaska and most of the rivers in
between" - Mark Coleman, PFG, FT, US Coast Guard Licensed
Captain

"One of my greatest
joys is helping people catch fish"
"Fishing is my passion"
My name is Mike Ainsworth. I have been
fishing in Washington state for over seventeen years
and Washington fishing guide for almost 8 years. I have
fished in many parts in the world from Hawaii to India, If it swims I
have
tried to catch it and there are a lot more fish to be caught.
Fishing is not just a job or a hobby for me it my passion. I have
always loved fishing since I was a small boy. I like every
thing fishing has to offer. Whether it be the natural beauty of the
rivers and forest of Washington, or the thrill of catching a new type
of fish. I also love helping people catch fish they have never
caught before or may have never been able to catch on there own.
One of the best things for me as guide is to see the look on some ones
face when they hook in to there first wild steelhead, or there first big
salmon or trout. The look on there face and the thrill that they
get is what great memories are made of, that goes double for young kids.
I still remember the first time my younger brother caught his first
steelhead, as vividly as the time I caught my first trout with my
father. As new father my self I can hardly
wait until my son is of age so I can show him the joy and fun filled
days that fishing has brought through the years.

Hello Mark,
I had a good time yesterday fishing with Seattle guide Mike Anisworth on the Skykomish River
even though we had to turn back the ones we caught. Mike did a
good job!
Thanks again, Mark Lewis

Over the many years, states and far off
places, I have obtained two state fishing records. One in New Mexico
state, a nineteen pound, 33" Rainbow Trout, and one in Texas, a five and
a half pound smallmouth bass. I started as a Washington fishing
guide so I could share
my joy and passion of fishing with my clients. I look forward to
fishing with you.

"This
why I do what I do"
As a Washington State fishing guide have been fishing for Steelhead and Salmon for over 33 years and as
you can tell...this is my passion. Being a part of someone else
catching there first Steelhead or Salmon or maybe the biggest fish of
their life gets me excited too. I am a people person and I love to
coach my fisherman and women as they are fighting their fish and to see
that look on there face when they finally land it... that's why I am a
Seattle Fishing Guide!

Testimonials...
Hi Mark,
I just wanted to let you know that we
all had an excellent time yesterday fishing with Ray!!!
It was a great day for my first-time fishing experience. The
weather was my worst fear, but it wasn't miserable at all. Most
importantly, Ray
was an excellent Seattle fishing guide. He was keeping us entertained while we
waited, and his optimism kept me excited and on the constant lookout.
We could tell he was trying very hard to position us for a catch.
I learned a lot and I'm looking forward to my next fishing trip.
:)
Please extend out thanks to
Ray for a
wonderful trip on the river.

"Hello Mark, I had a great time on my trip in July with Ray,
one of the best Washington fishing guides Ive used. I will
definitely do it again next year if I am sent to Fort Lewis for the
summer. Can you please ask Ray to send me a copy of the picture of
me and my steelhead.
Thanks, Oakland McCullough, U.S. Army
