Skykomish Chinook Banner

 June 1st - July 31st, Skykomish River

*July 9th - Aug 9th, Fri - Sun, Skagit River

"While you fish" BBQ lunch provided on full-day trips!

Summer is a knockin' and I'm fired up to start catching summer chinook and summer steelhead in the Skykomish river!  Draining the north cascade mountains, the Skykomish river is located 35 minutes east of Seattle near the town of Monroe, WA.

We had a great season last summer with good average daily catches of both chinook and steelhead, a derby winning "triple hook-up", and delicious BBQ lunches!

The best fishing generally occurs between June 1st and July 15th but many years the fishing is good until July 31st.  Back-up fishing locations will be available for when the Skykomish slows down.

*SKAGIT RIVER - The Skagit will have its first summer chinook fishery in over 20 years starting July 9th, Friday through Sunday closing on August 9th.  I will spend one week dialing in this fishery and will tenatively be offering trips there-after.  Please inquire!

1st paragraph image chin steel brock

I will be offering full-day trips until we reach capacity, then I will be adding evening trips after our day trips.  These gentleman took advantage of just that!

2nd paragraph four fish

The techniques we use work great for BOTH the chinook and the steelhead!  If the fish stays deep and pulls lots of line its a chinook, but if it makes two quick circles around the boat and fly's out of the water...STEELHEAD!!!

These trips are full day guided outings with all gear, tackle, boat, bait, fuel, and a BBQ lunch provided.  $175.00 per angler/day, $125.00 per angler/half-day (available at my desrection).

The only items you need are:

- Washington freshwater fishing license, w/ catch record card

- Dress for the weather

- Cooler for your catch!

Our Skykomish river start times are around 6:30am, meeting locations will be in the vicinity of Monroe, WA.  Skagit River trips stay tuned for more info or inquire...

The fish...

On the Skykomish we will be allowed to retain two hatchery fish per person, one may be a chinook.

On the Skagit we will be allowed one adult chinook, hatchery or wild.  Steelhead will most likely not be part of our catch on the Skagit.

As always I will fillet your catch for you at the end of your trip.  If you're traveling you can use this link to get more info on packing and shipping.

3rd paragraph photo half-day score

These happy customers did well on limited time!  This photo of 3 steelhead and 2 chinook was taken at 11:30am!

5.1 million pinks

Coming up this August 16th and going through September we will be getting a larger than average return of super aggressive, good fighting Pink salmon (or Humpies) to our local rivers!  WDFW has forecasted this years run to be 5.1 million fish!  This tops the 2007 run of 3.1 million fish, and the fishing that year was ridiculous!

I will be offering full-day trips early on, but will switch to half-day trips sometime in the third week of August (catching will get that good!).  This run only comes every odd year, so book a date while you have the chance at this incredible run of fish.

Fly Fisherman!!!  This is also a great opportunity for catching salmon on the fly rod!

Please inquire to make your reservations!

Pics from past fisheries...

Pine Lake Kids Fishing!

Wow, what a great season it has been!  With over 20,000 thousand trout planted this year in Pine Lake, our kids fishing outings were out-of-control! The average number of fish caught per 2.5 hour outing was 18 trout!!!

We will be offering these outings through June and have space available.  Please click on the above image for more info!
