July 4th, 2008, Jim Daugherty and family from Indiana take home two 1st place wins during the Coastal Anglers Association salmon and steelhead derby. The event to place on the Skykomish River. One 1st place finish was for most fish caught and the other for heaviest overall limit of fish. For each 1st place win, they won a Shimano Rod and Reel combo!
August 18th, 2009, Hans Christiansen of Bellingham, WA wins third place in the 2009 Ray Reep King salmon derby on the Skagit River. His fish weighed in at 32.64lbs and he won $500.00!
October 31st, 2011, Jerry Rowe of Seattle, WA wins first place in the 2011 Humptulips river Coho salmon derby with a 13lb Coho caught and landed during one of our Humptulips river drift boat trips.The team won a total of $600.00 plus lots of bonus prizes. Jerry also won the 2012 King salmon derby with us!
August 11th, 2012, Team Member Herb Gutler of Mukilteo, WA takes home some cash after placing in the 2012 Washington Tuna Classic!Great work team AR&SC in your first tournament appearence!
October 1st, 2012, Patrick Fagan of Seattle, WA lands a State Record Bluefin tuna aboard “Reel Tight”. This 36.49lb BFT was hooked and landed during one of our Express Albacore tuna fishing trips out of Westport, WA. Congratulations Patrick!
October 31st, 2012, Jerry Rowe of Seattle, WA wins first place in the 2012 Humptulips river fall King salmon derby with a 27lb King caught and landed during one of our Humptulips river drift boat trips. He won a 5 day fishing adventure to Alaska. Jerry also won the 2011 derby with us!
August 2nd, 2014, Team ARSC takes FIRST PLACE at the Washington Tuna Classic in Westport, WA. Great job once again to Team ARSC. The team was led once again this year by captain Herb Gutler. This win gave us the invite to the Offshore World Championship in Quepos, Costa Rica. Team ARSC will be in this tournament April 12th- 17th, 2015.
August 8th, 2015, Team ARSC takes FIRST PLACE & THIRD PLACE at the Washington Tuna Classic in Westport, WA. Great job once again to Team ARSC. The 1st place team was led once again this year by captain Herb Gutler along with our very own Merry Coleman. The 3rd place team was led by Mark Coleman and Donald Auman. Back to the OFFSHORE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in April 2016!!!
September 27th, 2015, Angler Jim Watson fishing aboard Ultra caught this 36+ pound Opah (or moonfish) which is now the new Washington State record. It was caught on a live Anchovy while fishing for Albacore approximately 50nm west of Westport, WA.
August 13th, 2016, Team ARSC “Fish-a-lot” led by Captain Herb Gutler finished in 2nd place, and Team ARSC “Express Style” led by Captain Mark Coleman finished in 3rd place at the 2016 Washington Tuna Classic held in Westport, WA. Other wins for Team ARSC at the event were Most Fish, Largest Fish, Smallest Fish, and the list continues! All said and done Team ARSC took home 6 out of 8 trophies at the 2016 event. Nice work team!
