The fall crowds are gone so come play “clean-up” on Coho Salmon and Hatchery Winter Steelhead as they make their way back to our coastal rivers. At times this trip involves casting to and battling large salmon in and around heavy structure. You may experience things that you were taught NEVER TO DO with a fishing rod! Watch these fish chase your lure to the boat, set the hook, and hang on! These trips are unique because we float a large section river each day and only take two anglers plus guide in our drift boats. With every tide large numbers of Chinook (king) and Coho (silver) salmon flood into the river mouth to begin their journey upstream. Located on Washington’s central coast, our small Olympic Peninsula rivers yield strong runs of BIG King salmon, lure smashing Coho, and the hardest fighting Chum salmon around. By Thanksgiving weekend, hatchery Winter Steelhead will join the mix along with continued Coho returns and a few Kings still in the system. Our “float” is usually 8-12 miles each day and gives us access to parts of the river that few people can get to.
