Best Time to Go Fishing

The best time to go fishing on the Skagit River in Washington depends on the type of fish you want to catch. For example, if you want to catch trout or salmon, late summer and September are usually the ideal times. Please let us know if you’re interested in catching a particular type of fish or if you’re curious about what type of fish are available during a specific time you’ll be visiting the area.  

Our fishing schedule consists of two different Skagit River fishing trips. From December 1 – April is “‘I-5 Corridor’ Hatchery & Wild Steelhead – Skagit, Nooksack & Cowlitz Rivers.” During odd number years, from September 1 – October, is the “Pink Salmon Run.” Many other fishing trips are available in various locations. Note that you need a fishing license to fish in the Skagit River. You can obtain one via the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife website.
